The Science of Spectral Permanence

The durability of our orange colorant is a result of "Oxidative Locking." In organic dyes, orange color is produced by carbon-double-bonds that are easily "snapped" by UV energy. In our durable orange oxides, the color is produced by "Charge Transfer" between iron and oxygen within a rigid mineral crystal.
