The Science of Precipitation Selectivity

Achieving low impurity levels is a matter of "Selective Crystallization." During the synthesis of iron oxide, different metal ions have different "Solubility Products" (Ksp​). By precisely controlling the pH and temperature gradients, we can hold impurities in a dissolved state while the iron oxide crystals grow in a pure form.
